Have you ever been in a situation where you are invited to be with family & friends & they cook up alot of unhealthy foods? Do you bring your own food? Lately we've been having family get-togethers and it's not always healthy even thought they KNOW I am in the process of eliminating fat & shaping my body. I"d like to do more reading though on the body & what happens to it when we put too much weight on it. Anyone can comment on this. I am open to all suggestions. Thankyou~TLF

    You know what I do whenever Im in that sitaution.. I eat small portions.. that way I dont feel bad for not eating or taking my own food. Just eat small portions and you should be ok.. for me a small portion is the palm of my hand..

    Eat smething healthy before you go or take along a healthy snack and eat it before dinner. If you do that you will eat less of the bad food and can eat smaller portions and not feel guilty or deprived.

    When we are over weight it is bad for cholestrol, diabetis, heart and harder on muscles carrying that weight around. Your heart works harder to pump that blood around in our bodies. Google around and you will find out all kinds of info on why extra weight is not a good thing. As for going to all the dinners, it is ok to tell the host or cook that it is food you just can't eat due to it adding on pounds you don't want or need. Eat before you go, pick and choose foods there that you know are just fine like the veggies, a wee bit of potato a piece of lean meat, etc. There is no shame in letting people know you are doing this to get healthy. You know what is ok to eat and what to walk away from. The family or friends having the dinner are cooking for a crowd so they just go ahead and make the meal, I do the same, just when it is time to eat I choose what to eat very carefully. We know they are not going to cook a special meal knowing you are on a diet, it is up to you to know what you can eat and is healthy and what you just have to be strong and say uummmm no, not for me. You can do this, it is hard when it is in your face but not impossible. :)

    What I do before going to a family or friends get-together, is eat some apple slices and by the time I get there I am almost full and that way I don't eat more then what I have to.
