Has anyone else tried spinning?

I go to the gym 4-5 times a week.  I do spinning 3x a week.  I feel great, BP is down, and I look forward to the next session.  Problem is I have not really lost any weight, so I am trying SQ.

Does anyone else spin?  Any ideas on how to see results?

Do you have a heart rate monitor to know exactly how many calories you are burning while spinning? I try to make sure I burn at least 700 calories while spinning, just to make sure I am getting an agressive workout. Remember it is all about calorie deficit, so if you are exercising like a mad woman and eating whatever you want, you won't lose any weight. Find a reliable calorie calculator or have a trainer do a body assessment if your gym offers one (best option). I did a gym body assessment and I am able to lose 2-3 lbs each week safely and quickly by eating 1700 calories a day and exercising 4 days a week (burning 700 calories each workout). SQ has helped me control my appetite to keep my calorie count down. You can do it!

You should also change it up a bit. Doing other types of cardio exercises as well will help with the weight loss. Not only will it prevent boredom but also prevents injuries from repetitive motions. Trying an aerobics class or even yoga and pilates is a good way to change it up and start seeing results. I wish you all the best!

Spinning is like intense stationary bike riding with ups and downs and a very perky lady or guy up front going "come on get up there! blah blah blah" :) i did it once against my will and it was actually ok but i will NEVER admit that i ilked it to my husband. works well if you want to sweat ALOT

Spinning is annoying as you know what... I can't STAND walking past a spinning class - ALL SPINNING instructors screaming at you makes me mad - doesn't want me to SPIN harder. I have never known anyone to lose weight spinning alone. Spinning is a form of torture :-) like waterboarding lol

I love spinning, I have been doing it once or twice a week since 2005 and I lost weight. I also run, do weights and kickboxing .. so I find it a good addition to my work out mix.
